About Us. . .

Welcome to "VTBroadbandReport".
The Internet still lives up to its old nickname of “Information Superhighway” if you have broadband access. But for much of rural America, it is still a dirt road with signs reading “Speed Limit 56k.” The country is dividing into high-speed haves and dial-up have-nots, with worrisome consequences for communities and businesses that fall behind. This blog tells the stories of the people trying to speed things up by conquering the geographic, economic and political barriers to rural broadband access. It is produced by Ken Donnelly, Kelly Beech, Chris Nachtwey and Joshua James Gervais, students at Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vermont.

This project has been made possible by a generous grant from AT&T.
